Shower & Tile Installation in El Monte, CA

Tile is where a bathroom is made or ruined, and almost all of that happens in the layer you never see. We build the substrate properly, then set the tile — and we will happily show you the waterproofing before it disappears behind the finish.

What's included in a shower & tile installation

Every job in El Monte is quoted in writing before we start, and nothing gets added without your say-so.

Waterproof membrane, always

Bonded sheet or liquid-applied membrane over the backer, with corners and seams banded. Backer board alone is not waterproof.

Pre-sloped pan

A properly pre-sloped mortar bed or a factory pan. Water has to reach the drain from every point in the floor.

Layout planned first

We dry-lay and plan the layout so cuts land where you do not look and full tiles land where you do.

Porcelain, ceramic, stone

Including large-format and natural stone, which need a flatter substrate and the right setting material.

Schluter edges and profiles

Metal profiles at outside corners and terminations instead of fragile bullnose that chips.

Sealed and inspected

Grout sealed where it needs it, and a flood test on the pan before tile goes down.

Shower & Tile Installation questions we get in El Monte

How long does grout need before I can shower?+

Give it 72 hours. Sealer goes on after that, and it needs its own cure time depending on the product.

Large-format tile or standard?+

Large format means fewer grout lines and less cleaning, but the wall or floor has to be much flatter, so prep cost goes up. On shower floors we usually recommend smaller tile for grip and slope.

Do you flood test?+

Yes, on every pan we build, before a single tile goes down. It is the only way to know the waterproofing works while it can still be fixed cheaply.
